Some people don't really want to be reasonable.

Precisely. But we must strive to be better, to find the path that leads to the best outcome for as many people as possible.

I wish more people back home were like you.

[Helen laughs lightly, happy to hear that. It's a far cry from their first encounter in Gus' little hideaway.]

And I wish there were more like you. It's not often that you find someone young who can take the time to stop and listen, really listen.

[She gives a bit of a shrug. She's not entirely sure how to respond at first, because she probably wouldn't listen to just anyone. But Helen is a bit of a special circumstance.]

You remind me of my mom.

[It helps that Helen is saying a lot of the things she would say.]

[Her lips twitch into a smile, sadness lingering in her eyes.]

It's been a very long time since I had a daughter your age.

[She looks a little sad too, more from the loss than anything else.]

Been a long time since I've had a mom.

[Not as long as it's been for Helen, probably, but ... a long time for a teenage girl.]
