Medicine can work wonders. I have a lot of respect for the doctors and scientists involved.

Yeah, humans have always been really ... resourceful that way? If there's something they don't understand, they'll do whatever it takes to figure it out.

Resourcefulness isn't a trait that's limited to humans. My people show their fair share of it.

No, it's not. But where I'm from, humans can be super dangerous if you underestimate them. At least for people like me.

Maybe you'll get to? Maybe he'll come here too. Which can be slightly awkward due to the nature of the place, but I'm sure you'd be able to figure it out.

[Derek and Cora are starting to. Derek was trying to make up for lost time, to be the big brother he thinks he's supposed to be rather than the one she actually needs, but things are starting to even out a bit now.]

Hunters. Which ... I mean, the existence of hunters is necessary, to a point. There are bad werewolves and shifters out there, and we can't always be trusted to police ourselves. It's hard to stand up to your alpha or even go up against a pack of shifters who are only after power.

But just like there are good and bad shifters, there are good and bad hunters too. Hunters are supposed to go by a code, but not all of them follow it - they'll just kill whatever werewolves they come across, simply because they can, whether it's to establish dominance or just because they like the thrill of the kill.

[there's a long pause before she finishes it off, but ...]

A crew of hunters set my house on fire when I was eleven, killing everyone inside. All that's really left now are me, my brother and my uncle. But it wasn't all werewolves that they killed either - members of our family were human, and there were some kids in there too, which is against their code.

[ Nadass is taken aback by all that abbot hunters and killing. ]

I think there's a lot to werewolves that I don't understand. I'm so sorry to hear about your family. I can't imagine what that kind of loss must feel like.

It was really tough, but we figured it out. Or we're still figuring it out. Either way, the person responsible paid for what they did.
