CHARACTERS PLAYED: Laurel Lance (DCTV)
CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Cora Hale
CANON: Teen Wolf
AGE: 17 (aged up to 18) | Cora is a girl who had to grow up very fast, having been on her own since the age of 11 and needing to survive in a strange place without a strong support structure. She is aware of the world and the consequences for actions, especially in terms of consent. She wouldn’t want someone to touch her without her permission, so she follows the same rules with others. I would also argue that she has a much harsher view of sex than most kids her own age, having been a teenage girl on her own on the street, and knows very well the lines that should or shouldn’t be crossed. More about that in the fit section!
CANON POINT: 309: The Girl Who Knew Too Much, right after she tries to take on Aiden and it goes really badly.
BACKGROUND: From the Teen Wolf Wiki
INCENTIVE:At her current canon point, Cora is still reeling from the death of her best and essentially only friend, Vernon Milton Boyd IV, who was murdered by the alpha pack. After failing to take out Aiden, and frankly getting her ass handed to her trying to avenge him, if the representatives approached her she would probably be more than happy to make a deal to bring Boyd back to life.
FIT:While it takes a while for Cora to get comfortable enough with someone to the point of being affectionate, she can be quite so once you get under the steel reinforced walls she sets up around herself. Holding hands, gentle touches and reassuring squeezes are definitely within her wheelhouse. Coming to Eudio is definitely something that will push her out of her comfort zone in terms of personal contact with other people, but she’s got a good base of people she somewhat trusts to build from and a strong motivation to meet her quota and get her incentive. My end goal would be to get her to open up more, make some real friends, and actually have her grow into a person with real emotions, rather than having two switches: violence and non-violence.
CONSENT:Consent is very important to Cora. She’s been held against her will in the past and doesn’t trust a lot of people, so she will not let anyone touch her if she doesn’t want to be touched, and do the same for other people. That being said, she does have a rather violent temper and if she really doesn’t like you or you really piss her off she will absolutely attack you without your permission. Hopefully, she won’t run into that problem in Eudio, but I feel like it would be remiss of me not to mention it, consider how much anger she’s going to be dealing with coming in.
SAMPLES: [Sample written on the premise that her current canonpoint + caveats are a-okay, if not, I will write something different for her intro.]Passing out shortly after you arrive in a city that’s you’re supposed to be helping survive is not exactly an encouraging move on her part, but the representatives seem more concerned with her not being well than they are with not being able to follow through. By the time she wakes up again in the hospital, the doctors are informing her that she had mistletoe poisoning but she’s going to be just fine. Not that she has any idea how that happened, because she doesn’t exactly go around eating Christmas decorations, but she also knows that she’s not the first person in Beacon Hills to catch a case of Mistletoe poisoning as of late. All the more reason she’s glad to be here and not there. Beacon Hills and the Darach can kiss her ass. She has bigger fish to fry.
She spends most of her required time in the hospital alerting her brother to her presence and looking at all of these apps she’s not sure she actually wants to use, but knows they’ll probably be helpful in getting her what she wants. For right now, she’s still exploring, not wanting to call to much attention to herself out of habit, and until she knows the safe places to hide out and get the lay of the land.
Once she’s released and given a clean bill of health, checking out the rest of the city seems to be the next item on the agenda. As she steps out onto the streets and begins to set out exploring, she hopes that this isn’t a decision that’s going to come back and bite her later.
ABILITIES: Giving it it’s own section because she has a lot:Enhanced senses, also being skilled at manipulating them – example: Cora can use her enhanced hearing to listen to someone’s heartbeat and tell whether or not they’re lying. It’s not a foolproof system because some people are awesome liars and can monitor their heartbeat, but it’s worked pretty well for her thus far. She can also smell pheromones and pick up on when someone is feeling intense emotions like stress or sadness, and she can sense when someone is about to have a seizure. Enhanced strength and speed. Healing – they can heal almost instantaneously from any wound, provided that the item in question is removed (if they’re stabbed) or there isn’t wolfsbane involved. Inducing physical trauma can trigger the healing for things like paralytics and other non-fatal toxins. They can also temporarily take another person or animal’s pain onto themselves. It’s actually really sweet and can only really be done in small doses – if they take too much it can kill them. Shifting – as a beta Cora can get wolfy which includes a set of nasty looking claws, fangs, additional facial hair, gold eyes and pointy ears. It is not the most attractive thing in the world, but it is rather terrifying. It's also indicated that their "wolf" eyes work differently/are separate from their human eyes. They see more than their normal eyes do, and there's an instance of a werewolf where their human eyes were blinded, but they could still see as a wolf. IDK how it works, but it does.
ANYTHING ELSE? My current canon point is just before Cora … collapses from mistletoe poisoning and winds up in the hospital for a good stretch of episodes. I was wondering if this is something the Eudio doctors will be able to fix on arrival? If not I can adjust her canon point accordingly for the same incentive, but I would prefer this one if at all possible.
